What could improve: Nothing mentioned
The Dishes
The main event was the doubled Bigfoot Burger Challenge, featuring 12 third-pound beef patties stacked between two sets of buns with 12 slices of American cheese, bacon, and fresh vegetables. The burger was cooked to medium-rare perfection with excellent seasoning that impressed Randy throughout the challenge. Beyond the burger itself, the challenge included a pound of fries and a pound of tater tots as sides. Randy also opted to try the famous lobster roll, which he described as freaking good, though he noted the lobster does not come from the nearby Smithville Lake. To round out the meal, he finished with cookies from the local Ileen's bakery, which were dunked in a Missouri Pothole milkshake, a local variation of the Michigan classic.
The Experience
The challenge took place inside Paradise Ice Cream Parlor rather than at Captain's Corner itself, specifically to accommodate the large crowd of supporters who came to watch Randy attempt this massive feat. The atmosphere was energetic and supportive, with cheering from the audience throughout the 29-minute and 43-second challenge. Everything at Paradise was described as very clean with no concerns about sanitation. The event was owned and operated by Catherine and Seth's family, who have maintained the campus for about 10 years and have been running the Bigfoot burger challenge for approximately 5 years.
Value and Pricing
The base challenge was priced at $33.54 for the burger meal, which includes the six one-third pound beef patties, one pound of tater tots, and other optional additions. Winners receive a commemorative t-shirt as part of the challenge prize. Since this video was made with community support and business partnerships, Randy received his meal free due to the sponsorship of the local businesses involved.
Notable Moments
This is basically a campus owned by Catherine and then her partner aka husband Seth. The whole family they've had the campus for about 10 years but they've actually had this Bigfoot burger challenge for about 5 years.
Burgers are medium rare, they're very good. So, kudos to Seth and the family for cooking this up.
I probably shouldn't have done that, but like I said, this is first challenge of the year and I did not win before I began. If you fail the base challenge, you've got to feel bad watching this video since I did two of the challenges plus a very delicious lobster roll and I finished the milkshake.
The Verdict
Randy successfully completed the doubled Bigfoot Burger Challenge, making him the first person ever to double this particular challenge and finish within the 30-minute time limit. He finished in 29 minutes and 43 seconds, capturing his 1,385th overall food challenge victory. This restaurant is best for those who want an authentic, impressive eating challenge with a strong community atmosphere and quality ingredients. Captain's Corner and Paradise Ice Cream Parlor represent the kind of local business partnership that makes for memorable challenge experiences, with well-executed cooking and genuine support from the owners and their families.
