Helisa Collagen Cafe — Review by WOJEK
Warsaw, Poland
Helisa Collagen Cafe is a Warsaw restaurant combining healthy dining with beauty wellness services including LED light therapy masks. While the food presentation is elegant and ingredients are quality, the dishes are overpriced with small portions and taste surprisingly basic, making it poor value despite the premium positioning.
What was great: Professional presentation of dishes, good quality salmon and corn-fed chicken, interesting fregola pasta, minimalist decor
What could improve: Extremely overpriced portions, small serving sizes, basic flavors, inconsistent dishes, expensive LED mask treatment (79 PLN for 12 minutes), lack of nutritional information (calories, macros), salmon bowl too dry, beet salad had too little meat, expensive smoothie and matcha latte, earthy aftertaste in caviar appetizer, overly greasy chocolate dessert with unpleasant salt crystals
The Dishes
The reviewer ordered extensively to test the menu. The Skin smoothie with strawberries, dates, bee pollen, and coconut milk was fresh and natural without being overly sweet but at 39 PLN seemed expensive for what is essentially blended fruit and milk. The matcha latte arrived very green with a fishy aftertaste that the reviewer disliked, priced at 25 PLN. The chia pudding with coconut milk, dragon fruit, berries and granola was visually appealing and tasted healthy but lacked sweetness, costing 54 PLN. The oatmeal with cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, apple, skyr and cherry compote looked nicely plated and had good flavor but was a small portion at 45 PLN, prompting questions about whether even women could feel full from it. The corn-fed chicken with fregola pasta featured a juicy, properly seasoned breast with crispy skin, and the fregola was an interesting new pasta experience for the reviewer, though the 84 PLN price seemed unjustifiable. The beef broth was described as a traditional homemade-style cup with an anise aftertaste the reviewer disliked, priced at 39 PLN. The salmon and rice bowl had omega-3 and high quality protein but tasted dry and fish-forward with not enough moisture to bind ingredients together, at 90 PLN it was deemed the worst and most expensive dish of the day. The Rostbewam salad with roasted beef, arugula, shiso and balsamic vinegar had such a small amount of meat (60g) relative to lettuce that it seemed like a child's portion, at 77 PLN the meat was almost unnoticed against the strong vinegar flavor. The mini waffle with caviar was a tiny single waffle grid with what amounted to a 1 to 1 ratio of caviar, tasting earthy and fishy with an unpleasant skyr component at 55 PLN. The chocolate cream dessert with cocoa, coconut milk, hazelnuts and Himalayan salt was overly greasy with fat literally pooling in the mouth, and salt crystals in some bites became unpleasantly burning, at 45 PLN the reviewer would not order it again.
The Experience
The restaurant is spaciously laid out in a minimalist style with not many tables but enough room for many guests. The owner explained the concept came from her lifestyle philosophy of caring for people inside and out, serving high-quality unprocessed ingredients and offering clinical-grade red light therapy lamps from beauty professionals. The LED mask treatment lasted 12 minutes with provided eye protection, and the reviewer described it as emitting strong warm light that penetrated through eyelids, though he expressed skepticism about whether such single sessions actually produce results.
Value and Pricing
The total bill for all dishes plus one LED mask treatment was 620 PLN. The reviewer consistently emphasized that prices are astronomical and disproportionate to portion sizes. Smoothies at 39 PLN, salads at 77 PLN with minimal protein, small mains at 84-90 PLN, and even basic matcha at 25 PLN represent what the reviewer calls cosmic pricing. The LED mask treatment at 79 PLN for 12 minutes was noted as expensive, though the owner claimed clinical treatments at aesthetic medicine clinics cost around 300 PLN, positioning their service as more affordable.
Notable Moments
45 PLN for plain oatmeal, and there's an even smaller baby version on the kids menu
The prices are cosmic, and these portions are tiny. I don't know if even a woman could get full from this
620 PLN total for everything I ordered today
If I wanted to eat something like this chia pudding, I would just buy the ingredients and make it at home knowing what it costs here
The Verdict
Helisa Collagen Cafe appears to be a scam aimed at Instagram-worthy aesthetics rather than substantive value. While the concept of combining healthy food with wellness services is interesting and the presentation is elegant, the food tastes disappointingly basic and the portions are small for the premium prices charged. The reviewer found no dishes memorable enough to warrant a return visit. For those seeking healthy dining in Warsaw, traditional restaurants like 4Burgers or other fitness-focused establishments offer much better flavor and value. The LED light therapy gimmick, while intriguing conceptually, adds little to the dining experience and feels like an unnecessary upsell. This establishment is best avoided unless you prioritize Instagram aesthetics over actual culinary satisfaction and fair pricing.
