Linea Mare — Review by KSIĄŻULO
Pobiérów, Poland — International/Hotel cuisine
Linea Mare is the hotel restaurant at a five-star oceanside resort in Pobiérów offering surprisingly affordable pricing compared to Warsaw restaurants. The reviewer enjoyed well-prepared steaks, quality burgers, and generous portions of beef tartare, though some dishes like the chicken Caesar salad lacked proper seasoning and could be inconsistent.
What was great: Reasonable pricing for a hotel restaurant, good quality steaks and beef tartare, burgers with quality ingredients and toppings, grilled vegetables cooked well, Caesar salad with crispy bacon
What could improve: No air conditioning in rooms, mandatory room service delivery fee, limited menu variety, some dishes slightly dry (certain pieces of chicken), tartare needed more seasoning, Caesar salad sauce was bland and underwhelming
The Dishes
The room service menu proved to be quite diverse and reasonably priced for a hotel establishment. The ribeye steak with roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables arrived tender and cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a nice pink center. At 118 zloty total, it offered good value considering the hotel setting. The grilled vegetables including onion, zucchini, bell peppers and mushrooms were properly prepared and flavorful. The beef burger classic came impressively plated with all the traditional toppings including tomato, lettuce, cucumber, bacon and caramelized onions. Though the meat was slightly dry and well-done rather than medium, the generous sauce and quality ingredients made it satisfying at 58 zloty including fries. The beef tartare stood out as a notable value, priced at 55 zloty with a massive portion that actually exceeded the ribeye steak in size. It was made from quality beef and came with proper accompaniments, though it desperately needed additional salt and pepper seasoning. The Caesar salad at 49 zloty featured crispy bacon, dark bread croutons and fresh parmesan, but the dressing was disappointingly bland and yogurt-like rather than properly flavored. The chicken in the salad varied in quality, with some pieces tender and others noticeably dry.
The Experience
The restaurant experience involved ordering through room service rather than dining in the main restaurant, which the reviewer attributed to being in the non-categorized section of the hotel. There were significant frustrations accessing the menu and placing orders online, with the hotel website being non-functional. Multiple phone attempts to reach room service were unsuccessful before finally connecting. Room service delivery fees added 50 zloty per delivery, though the reviews still found overall pricing competitive. The atmosphere was casual, with eating in the hotel room rather than a formal dining space.
Value and Pricing
Despite being a five-star hotel, Linea Mare offered remarkably competitive pricing compared to Warsaw restaurants. A 118 zloty ribeye steak with sides was deemed excellent value. Burgers at 58 zloty were comparable to prices at dedicated burger restaurants in the capital. The beef tartare at 55 zloty was notably cheaper than similar dishes in Warsaw establishments. Even with the 50 zloty room service fee per delivery, the total cost remained reasonable for hotel dining. The reviewer emphasized that the hotel's pricing showed no excessive markups typical of resort restaurants.
Notable Moments
I took a shower. Informationally speaking, not that I'm complaining, but the water pressure in the showerhead is really something. There's no shower head, just a nozzle.
The steak is very tender and delicate. Nice and pink. Maybe I don't know what degree of doneness he ordered, but Bartek was there in person at the restaurant. It's delicately pink.
For these prices, considering we're in a hotel and it was brought to our room, if I had ordered just the steak alone, I would have paid 168 zloty with room service. But you can also go downstairs and eat in the restaurant.
The Verdict
Linea Mare represents solid hotel dining without the typical price gouging found in resort restaurants. While not exceptional, the food is consistently well-prepared and satisfying, making it suitable for guests wanting convenient meal options. The steak and tartare are standout items that punch above their price point. The restaurant would be best for hotel guests seeking casual meals without leaving the property rather than a destination dining experience. Some dishes need attention to seasoning and consistency, particularly the salads, but overall value and quality make it a reasonable choice for hotel dining.
