Mango Mango 67 Sigma — Review by KSIĄŻULO
Kibiel, Poland — Georgian/Middle Eastern
This is the only restaurant in Poland serving fire-spit roasted chicken cooked over an open flame. The 45 zloty meal includes perfectly crispy and juicy chicken, Georgian lavash, two sauces, coleslaw, and potatoes - offering excellent value compared to similar restaurants charging 40 zloty for just chicken alone.
What was great: Crispy skin, juicy meat, tender and flavorful chicken cooked over fire on a spit, authentic Georgian lavash bread, good sauces, fresh coleslaw, potatoes cooked over fire, excellent value for money
What could improve: Smoky flavor from the charcoal and fire didn't fully penetrate the meat as much as expected, not enough lavash relative to the amount of meat, tomato sauce was sweet rather than spicy
The Dishes
The main attraction is the fire-spit roasted chicken, the only one of its kind in Poland according to the reviewer. The chicken arrives with crispy, golden skin and incredibly juicy, tender meat. The complete meal includes two sauces, authentic Georgian lavash bread (though the reviewer notes it's shorter than typical bakery versions), fresh coleslaw with a slightly sweet tomato base, and potatoes cooked over the fire with an authentic campfire flavor.
The lavash is described as typical Georgian style, straight from a Georgian bakery, and pairs well with the chicken and sauces. The coleslaw provides a refreshing counterbalance to the rich chicken. The potatoes, while simple, taste genuinely good with that characteristic wood-fire cooking flavor.
The Experience
The reviewer was given special access to film inside the kitchen to capture the chicken rotating on the spit. The atmosphere is casual and authentic, with the aroma of grilled chicken, charcoal, and wood smoke filling the restaurant. Wait time was approximately 15 minutes for fresh chicken to be prepared. The kitchen staff appears friendly and accommodating.
Value and Pricing
At 45 zloty for the complete meal including whole chicken, two sauces, lavash, coleslaw, and potatoes, the reviewer considers this excellent value. After checking competitor prices where whole chicken alone costs 40 zloty at other respected establishments, this deal becomes even more impressive. The reviewer initially thought 45 zloty seemed expensive but revised this opinion after pricing comparisons.
Notable Moments
"This is the only chicken in Poland that rotates on fire, not on a spit without fire. If there are others like this, let us know."
"The skin is crispy, the meat is good, very juicy. You can feel the overall aromas of grilling and charcoal in the restaurant, though the smoke flavor didn't fully transfer into the food itself."
The Verdict
This restaurant comes highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic fire-roasted chicken with exceptional quality and value. The reviewer plans to return regularly. It's perfect for those craving properly cooked spit-roasted poultry with all the traditional accompaniments, offering a unique dining experience unavailable elsewhere in Poland.
